*여행 중 만난 사람들62 – 학살은 계속되고 있다

나는 ‘학살(虐殺)’이란 단어를 10여년 전 코소보와 보스니아를 배낭여행하면서 직접 그들로부터 들었다. 난 그 끔찍한 학살 현장이었던 ‘스레브레니차’를 본 이후론 학살이란 단어는 더 이상 현대 문명 사회에 등장하지 않을 것이라고 믿었다. 하지만 최근 러시아의 우크라이나 침공으로 인해 이 끔찍한 단어가 다시 등장했다. 학살 장소는 우크라이나 수도 ‘키이우’ 인근 지역인 ‘부차’에서 발견됐다. 이곳 역시 배낭여행 중 가 본 곳이다. 그래서 마음이 더 아픈지 모르겠다. 어쨌든, 왠지, ‘보차’ 거리에서살해된 수 많은 우크라이나 시민인들과 구덩이에 버려진 비참한 장면들은 내가 보았던 보스니아의 ‘스레브레니차’의 공동묘지가 자꾸 떠오른다. 나의 결론, 나라(國家)는 무조건 강하고 볼 일이다. 특히 유크레인처럼 사악한 꽁썬주의자들을 옆에 둔 우리나라, 대한민국이 그렇다.

*People met on my backpacking62 - the scene of the tragic slaughter

I thought that the word slaughter would no longer appear in modern civilization, at least at the scene of the genocide in Kosovo and Srebrenica by Serbia that I had seen in person. Now, however, the terrible word has reappeared due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The spot of the killings was discovered in Bucha, a region near the Ukrainian capital city of 'Kyiv' (I have also been there. That's why my heart aches even more.) Anyway, Sadly, those imagesof Ukrainians murdered on the street and bodies in the big holes in Bocha reminds me of 'Srebrenica' in Bosnia. My conclusion is that the nation must be strong with any reason. In particular, R.O. K which faces the worst comm-unists like Ukranian, is the case.
