자유부인 태국여행 : 여행결심

  세계여행은 거의 남편과 갔습니다. 물론 서로 혼자 가거나, 가족여행을 간 적은 있지만 요즘은 거의 부부 배낭여행이었습니다.
  
  그런데 팬데믹 끝을 향해 가는 요즘, 남편은 아직은 기다리자는 쪽이고, 저는 2년 반이면 더 못 기다리겠으니 나가자는 쪽이었습니다.
  
  남편의 세계여행 주목적은 세계인과 대화하는 것이기 때문에, 요즘에 나가 보았자 서로 경계하며 대화를 피하는 분위기다 보니 여행기분이 안난다는 것입니다.
  
  남편의 입장은 충분히 이해되는데…생존영어 수준인 제 입장에서는 대화 안해도 되고… 그냥 다른 나라 식물이나 자연 구경하고, 다른 나라 사람들 살아가는 모습 보고, 다른 나라 미술관에 가고, 다른 나라 시장 구경하고, 음식 맛보는 것으로도 좋을 것 같습니다.
  
  서로의 기대 수준이 다르다 보니 여행 가자고 아무리 졸라도 남편에게 안 먹혀서…그러면 나 혼자 가도 되냐고 물었더니…그래도 되긴 하지만, 안전을 생각해 친구랑 같이 가면 좋겠답니다. 남편 마음 바뀌기 전에 얼른…여행이라면 자다가도 벌떡 일어날 친구에게 전화해서 물어보니, 바로 ok~~~
  
  그래서 2주일의 짧은 여행을 가게 되었습니다. 그리고 그것도 저희가 거의 매년 가고, 여행자의 천국이라고 할 수 있는 안정적인 나라 태국…만약 제가 안 간 나라를 선택하면 남편이 반대할 게 뻔해서…남편이 안심할 수 있는 나라로…
  
  금 밟은 나라까지 합치면 저는 84개국을 여행했기 때문에 제가 안 간 남아있는 나라는 여행하기 어려운 이유가 있는 나라들입니다.(서아프리카 지역, 스탄 붙은 중앙아시아 국가, 이란 근처의 이슬람 국가, 중미의 치안이 불안한 지역, 태평양 한 가운데 있는 섬나라들) 저 혼자 이 지역을 여행 가면 남편이 걱정할 테니, 이 지역은 남편이랑 같이 가야 할 것 같습니다.
  
  저희의 세계 여행은 2020년 2월 말을 마지막으로 중단되었기 때문에, 2년 반 만에 비행기 처음 타는 거라서 그냥 좋습니다. 그리고 드물게 친구랑 둘이 떠나는 여행이라서 새로운 시도가 기분을 새롭게도 합니다.
  
  매년 가는 태국은 익숙해서 편하기도 하지만, 너무 익숙해서 초심의 설레임이 줄어든 것도 사실입니다. 그러나 함께 가는 친구와 처음 해외여행을 가는 거고, 좀더 태국에 익숙한 저가 일차적인 책임을 진다고 생각하니까…좀 긴장감도 생기고, 활기도 느껴지는 것 같습니다.
  
  남편과 다닐 때는 남편에게 의지하는 부분이 크다 보니, 나태해지고 느슨해지는 면이 있습니다. 자유부인이 되어 여행을 하는 자유는 주어졌지만, 그 자유에 대한 대가를 치르며 여행하는 오랫만의 시도~~~기대감⤴️⤴️⤴️
  
  혼자 집에 있는 자유로운 시간을 남편은 어떻게 지낼지…그것도 궁굼하네요^^

  Free Mrs. lady's trip to Thailand:
  
  I've mostly traveled on a world trip with my husband. Of course, sometimes I have traveled alone or with my family members. But most of it was backpacking abroad with my husband.
  
  One day I thought the tiresome pandemic is almost over. So I wanted to go abroad no matter where it is. Because we've already been held for two and a half years. However, my husband said to me it's not yet right time go abroad.
  
  I know the main purpose of his trip to the world is to enjoy talking with people from all walks of life. He said that he doesn't want people on the streets or restaurants look travelers doubtfully. So, he wants to wait till the pandemic is completely over. Agree, it's not good time for him.
  
  I fully understand what his feeling is. However, I am different from him. I mean I can't enjoy English conversion like him since my English is still poor. Instead I enjoy watching plants, nature, and locals living in other countries as they are. There are many other things I can enjoy, their art galleries, traditional markets, and the joy of eating local food there, etc.
  
  Therefore, I found that there is no hope to make him go on a trip with me now because our travel tastes are different. So I asked him if I could go abroad alone. He agreed but said it's better go with someone I like if possible because traveling alone is not good idea. I immediately called one of my friends if she wants my idea before my husband changed his mind. As expected, she was happy to hear me. Saying OK. ~~~
  
  So I'm going on a trip with my friend for two weeks. Our destination is to Thailand where my husband and I used to visiting. Thailand is a safe and fun place known as a traveler's paradise. If I choose another country I've never been to, I'm sure my husband won't accept it. That's why I chose Thailand, a country where my husband like it too.
  
  I've so far visited 84 countries. Most of the places I haven't been to yet are those countries that are not easy for me to try it. Such as West Africa, Central Asian countries, Islamic countries near Iran, unstable areas of Central America, island countries in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and so on. Well, there's no choice for me to try these places without my husband. If I try this area alone means that I enjoy his worrying against me.
  
   Our last backpacking trip was just before the pandemic began at the end of February 2020. It's my first flight in two and a half years, so I'm just happy. And it's a rare chance for me to trip with my close friend, so it's a kind of new adventure for me.
  
  Thailand is very used for me. I mean it's comfortable for me because I am used to it. On the other hand it's also less excitement and tension comparing to before. And I feel a lot of sense of responsibility because I go abroad with my friend for the first time. Hoping it makes me feel something a little tension and vitality.
  
  Whenever I'm traveling with my husband, I just become lazy and careless, mostly because he takes care of things that I need. Now I'm going on a trip without him but with my friend as a free lady. So I'll get another enjoyment of excitement in a new mood, paying the price for that freedom. Of course with my close friend. It's been a while since I felt this~~. Expectations are high.⤴️⤴️⤴️
  
  I'm wondering how my husband would spend his free time alone at home…Keeping curiosity is another pleasure, too^^
  
  No matter what, I'll soon leave for the Chiangmai in Thailand with my friend ~~~.
