  영어 대화로 드러난 공산주의 속성과 실상
  
  기왕 영어와 관련된 개인적 체험담을 올린 김에 이들 가운데 특히 인상 깊었던 에피소드를 나라별로 몇 개씩 소개해 올릴까 합니다.
  
  *대화의 시작은 거의 다 제가 먼저 옆 사람에게 뭔가를 물어보고 그가 답하면서 시작됐습니다. 묵묵무답, 불쾌감 혹은 거부를 나타낸 경우는 거의 없었습니다. 이 말씀을 드리는 이유는 제가 먼저 얘기를 시작하지 않았다면 대화 자체가 없었을 것이며 결국, 세계 여행을 통해 얻는 엄청난 양의 기쁨과 놀라움 그리고 감동과 교훈 중 절반 이상은 놓쳤을 것으로 생각하기 때문입니다.
  
  *저는 운 좋게 다양한 세계인들과 대화를 통해 국가의 소중함, 정치적 이념과 사상, 그리고 국제정치(외교+역사)가 얼마나 중요한가를 알았습니다. 모든 건 다 달라도 정치적 이념과 사상의 뿌리 그리고 세계관이 판이(判異)한 자들과는(설령 한민족인 북한과도) 단 하루도, 아니 단 한 시간도 함께 할 수 없음을 뼈저리게 느꼈습니다. 구공산권(舊共産圈)과 친(親)공산권(라오스, 러시아, 루마니아, 불가리아, 몽골, 세르비아 등) 사람을 포함, 현(現)공산권 사람들(북한, 중공, 베트남, 쿠바)을 만나 본 결과입니다. 북한 사람들과 직접 대화를 나눠본 적은 없지만, 그들이 나를 보고 일방적으로 내 국적을 묻고 확인한 뒤 내뱉는 욕설과 무서운 증오의 눈빛은 이들을 다시는 보고 싶지 않도록 만정(萬情)이 뚝 떨어진 계기가 되었습니다.
  
  *사례1:프랑스 루르드 수퍼에서 생수를 살 때 내게 다가와 섬뜩한 북한말로 신분을 물은 뒤 남긴 그의 욕설과 무서운 눈빛. *2:시리아 다마스쿠스에서 저녁 먹거리를 사러 거리의 옥수수 가게에 갔을 때 갑자기 나타난 두 명의 30대 남자들, 역시 나의 국적을 물은 뒤 내게 퍼붓는 그들의 욕설과 냉혈의 눈빛. *3:몽골의 테렐지에서 북한 노동자로 보였던 두 사람, 역시 같은 욕설과 비난을 퍼부으며 철천지 원수를 대하던 태도. *4:모스크바의 어느 거리를 거닐 때 정복을 한 경찰이 내게 여권 제시를 요구하며 마구 떠들어대며 마치 뭔가 문제가 있는 듯한 분위기를 연출하는 무지막지한 언행을 봄. *5:길림에서 북경으로 가는 기차에서 사복 차림과 정복의 공안이 건너편 의자에 앉아 있는 중년 여성에게 신분증을 요구하며 한번 쓱 훑어본 뒤, 마치 개 끌고 가듯 하는 인권이란 그림자도 찾아볼 수 없는 그들의 강압적 태도 등.
  
  중국인과 러시아인(이들 중 특히 교사와 교수들 그리고 군인과 공무원)과 대화를 나눠본 뒤 절대 저들과 함께 할 수 없다는 걸 느꼈습니다. 그들의 공산전체주의 사상적 뿌리와 나의 자유민주주의 사상의 뿌리는 절대 융합(融合)과 화합(化合)이 불가함을 확인했습니다. 특히 중공인(中共人)들은 더 했습니다. 그들에게 대한민국은 여전히 수천 년 내려온 그들의 종속변수(從屬變數)에 불과함을 대화를 통해 재확인했기 때문입니다.
  
  지금 생각해보면 중국 여행이 가장 즐겁고 자랑스러웠던 시절은(마치 수천 년 멸시와 능욕당함을 응징하는 통쾌감) 시진핑 등장 이전 등소평의 개혁개방을 선전하는 대형 표어와 구호가 북경 곳곳에 붙어 있을 때인 것 같습니다. 적어도 그 당시엔 중국 어딜 가나 그들은 한국의 기적 같은 경제성장, 첨단기술 산업화 성공을 부러움을 넘어 존중과 존경을 충분히 느낄 만큼 언동(言動)을 했기 때문입니다. 하루가 멀다고 한국 자본과 기업 유치를 위해 발이 닳도록 서울을 오가며 허리를 굽히던 그들을 역시 나는 많이 보았습니다. 어쨌든 오늘의 시진핑 체제는 마치 모택통 시대를 넘어 고대(古代)로 돌아간 듯합니다. 옛 우리 영토 전역에 한사군(漢四郡)을 세우고, 삼국시대와 통일신라 후에도 도호부(都護府)니 도독부(都督府:9도독부, 5도독부, 계림 도독부)니 온갖 음흉하고 비열한 방법을 통해 한반도를 관리 통치하려던 술수와 계략 그리고 위협으로 그는 지금 대한민국을 감독하고 지시하듯 행동합니다.
  
  사드배치 하지 말라, 3불 합의 지켜라, 한미 동맹 안된다. 중국 핵심 이익과 주권을 침해하는 발언은 하지 말라면서 우리의 국익과 주권에 대해선 사사건건 침해하는 만행을 자행합니다. 자신들 말 안 들으면 언제든 예고 없이 무자비한 보복을 합니다. 실제로 사전 통보 없이 북경의 삼성, 롯데 등 우리 기업의 대형 입간판과 매장(賣場) 등을 크레인을 동원 초토화했지요. 정부든 단체든 이에 반발하거나 보복하는 것 봤나요? 어쩌다 우리 대한민국이 오늘날까지 중공으로부터 이런 온갖 행태의 주권침해를 당해도 대항은커녕 그저 고양이 앞 쥐 신세가 됐는지 모를 일입니다. 상대가 일본이나 미국이었다면? 온 나라가 떠날 듯이 언론은 물론 붉은 띠 맨 열열 가짜 비겁하고 비열한 자칭 애국자들이 광화문 이승만 광장을 점령하고 미·일 대사관 앞에서 사과하라고 주먹 쥐고 고함치며 성토하겠지요. 어쩌다 친구와 적도 구분 못 하는 이런 한심한 지경에 이르게 됐는지 알다 모를 일이 돼버렸습니다.
  
  하기야 대통령 스스로 조선조에서나 있을 법한 한복을 입고 중국을 향해 새해 인사를 하질 않나, 중국은 높은 산봉우리이다, 대국(大國)이다, 한·중은 운명 공동체다, 한국은 작은 나라지만 중국몽과 함께 하겠다는 완전히 얼빠진 굴욕적 자세로 알아서 기는 노예근성을 만천하에 밝히니 어찌 저 짱께들이 오늘날 세계가 인정하고 부러워하는 성공한 주권국가 대한민국을 업신여기며 마치 옛 그들이 설치한 도독부 운영하듯 무도한 짓을 하지 않겠습니까. 더는 이런 굴욕적 노예 근성을 가진 대통령은 물론 사악하고 잔인한 시진핑(CCP)을 용서하는 한국인이 되어선 안 된다는 다짐을 해 보면서 실제로 여행을 통해 중국의 실체를 경험한 몇 개의 사례를 소개합니다. <계속>

  English helped me see the real faces of commies.
  
  Since I have posted a personal experience related to English, I'd like to tell you some of the most impressive episodes in each country.
  
  (Most of the conversation started when I asked something first. And for the most part, they responded. There were very few occasions when they expressed silence, displeasure, or rejection. The reason I'm telling you this is that if I didn't try to break the ice first, I surely had no such chances to talk at all. Maybe I think I'm sure I would have missed a half of the tremendous amount of joy, surprise, inspiration and lessons from backpacking around the world. Of course, it would have been impossible without using English, the world language.)
  
  I've learned a lot from talking with people around the world. The importance of the nation, political ideology or value, and international politics (diplomacy + history). I deeply felt that I could never live with those who had completely different political value, roots of ideas, and worldview (even with N. Korean, which are the same people). It's from the talking with people from those of the old and pro-communist communities. I can't forget their the abusive language and scary hate to me. This became an opportunity that I never wanted to see them again.
  
  (*1: When I bought a bottled water at Lourdes supermarket in France, he came up to me and asked me about my identity in creepy N. Korean with his scary eyes. *2: Two men in their 30s who suddenly appeared when I went to a corn shop on the street in Damascus, Syria. They shot me abusive language and cold-blooded eyes after asking about my nationality. *3: Two people of N. Korea who appeared before me in the Mongolian Terrell, they also used the same abusive language and criticism against me and treated me with an unforgivable enemy. *4: When I was walking down a street in Moscow Russia, a uniformed police officer bawled at me asking for my passport. He spoke as if there was something wrong with my passport. He showed me an air of terror. *5: The attitude of the Chinese police in plain clothes and police uniform seen on the train from Gilim, China to Beijing. They asked for an ID from a middle-aged woman sitting on a chair across from my chair and took a quick glance. And they dragged her like a dog. There was no shadow of human rights for them, etc.)
  
  After talking to Chinese and Russians, especially teachers, professors, soldiers and civil servants, I felt that I could never live with them. I've confirmed that their communist totalitarian roots and my liberal democratic roots were absolutely incompatible. The CCP was worse. Because they treated Korea as their dependent variable that had come down thousands of years to them.
  
  For me, the most enjoyable and proud time to travel to China was when there were large slogans everywhere to announce the reforming and opening of Deng Xiaoping before the Xi Jinping. (I felt the exhilaration of punishing them for their contempt and humiliation to us for thousands of years.) At least at that time, wherever I went in China, I felt that they envied Korea's miraculous economic growth and the success of high-tech industrialization. I know how often they visited Seoul to attract Korean capital and businesses.
  
  Anyway, today's Xi Jinping system seems to have gone beyond the Mao era and returned to the ancient times. He’s been trying to manage and govern the Korean Peninsula through all sorts of insidious and despicable methods. Saying, Don't deploy THAAD, keep the trilateral agreement with the U.S., and no alliance between the U.S. and ROK. He actually,brutally, attacked Samsung and Lotte in Beijing without prior notice. He seems to enjoy committing the violation of Korea's sovereignty. Shamefully since the Korean president himself bowed to and praised China. CCP has been despising the successful sovereign nation of Korea, which the world recognizes and covets today. I don't think we Koreans should forgive not only Xi Jinping but the Korean president Moon. Never again forgive such a humiliating slave mentality of the Korean president anymore. The following stories are my own experiences in China.
