인천공항에서 제 시간에 탑승. 저가 항공사라 작은 비행기인 줄 알았는데, 대한항공과 코드 쉐어해서 약 400명이 타는 대형항공기에 거의 98% 만석이었습니다. 비행기의 좌석 앞도 넓고…운 좋게 4인석에 한 자리가 비어서 여유롭게 올 수 있었습니다.

그런데 올 8월에 탈 때는 간이도시락을 주었는데… 기다리는데 밥 줄 생각을 안합니다…승무원에게 물어보니 없어졌답니다. 사전 도시락 주문을 하거나, 미니 컵라면을 사 먹어야 한답니다.

간이도시락이 작을까봐 공항 제과점에서 단팥빵 2개 사왔는데…그 빵과 집에 남기면 안 돼서 가방에 넣어 온 건빵 조금과 쌀과자로 끼니를 때웠습니다. 이제 이 항공사도 밥 안 주니 사전에 기내식 주문을 하거나 먹거리를 가지고 타야겠습니다. (남편은 건빵을 너무 좋아해서 항상 집에 준비돼 있거든요. 군대 정신을 잊지 않기 위해 건빵을 먹는답니다.)

비행기가 연착을 안했고, 수속을 빨리 밟았고, 짐도 초반에 나와서…운좋게 엄청 빨리 입국장을 통과할 수 있었습니다.

입국 서류도 없어졌고, 세관신고서도 없어졌습니다. 아무것도 적을 게 없습니다. 여권과 비행기 탑승권만 함께 제출하고, 왼손가락 4개 지문, 오른 손가락 4개 지문, 양손 엄지 지문 찍고, 사진 찍으면 끝입니다. 묵을 숙소 명과 주소를 묻는다는 이야기도 있었지만, 저희는 아무런 질문도 받지 않았습니다.

원래 계획은 비행기 도착이 연착될 수도 있고, 수속시간이 길어질 수도 있으니…. 공항철도가 12시에 끊기니 몇 시간 공항에 있다 새벽에 시내로 나오는 것이었습니다.

12시 전에 충분히 나올 수 있을 것 같아서, 계획을 변경하기로 했습니다. 비행기 안에서 유심을 갈아 끼우고, 착륙한 후 게이트로 이동할 때 유심 작동시켜 숙소 예약하고, 공항철도 타고 예약한 숙소로 이동했습니다. 순식간에 계획 변경하고, 잘 맞아떨어져서, 안전하게 숙소로 와서 짐 풀고, 샤워하고, 방콕에서의 첫날을 보냈습니다. 디지털시대의 장점을 실감합니다^^

We boarded on time at Incheon Airport. We knew it was a small plane because it was a low-cost airline. However, the plane was a large one with about 400 people in code-sharing with Korean Air. It was almost 98% full.

The space in front of our knees were also large. Luckily, one of the four seats we sat was empty. So we were more relaxed than the other seats.

.

But one thing was different. A simple lunch box was provided when I took this flight with my friend this August. But not this time. This is what has changed. Instead, people who wanted to eat should buy mini cup noodles on the plane.

I bought some bread from the airport bakery just in case the amount of the lunch box was too small. I also brought some snacks and hardtack that were left at home. Because we'll be away for a long time. Now that the Air is not giving us food, we should order in-flight meals in advance or board with food. (My husband loves hardtack so much. So he always prepares it at home. He always said that he eats them in order not to forget his military spirit.)

Our flight wasn't delayed, we checked in quickly, and our luggage came out earlier... Luckily, we were able to get out of the immigration gate earlier than expected.

The entry documents was gone, and the customs declaration was gone. Nothing to write down. Only submit our passports and flight tickets together, four fingerprints on our left finger, four fingerprints on our right finger, thumbprint on both hands, and took a picture. That's it. We were told that the immigration officer would ask for the name and address of our hotel, but no questions at all.

We were going to stay at the airport for the night and then going to downtown next morning. Because the airport rail service to downtown stops before midnight.

Fortunately, we thought we could leave the airport building before 12 o'clock, so we decided to change our plan. I changed the USIM on the plane and finished booking the accommodation right away. Arrived at the hotel we booked by the airport train. Surprisingly, we changed our plans in a flash and also got the hotel safely. Unpacked, took a shower and spent our first day in Bangkok. It's amazing and grateful that we live in the digital age.^^
