People met on my backpacking124 - Koreans are too wasteful -

.

Wealthy countries and great powers are what every country wants. But they only want it but never try to know how to do it. Even if they knew, they don't put it into practice. This is a common point of those who are in debt, whether individual or national. They established principles and were thorough in education to live well. What they have in common is a thorough spirit of thrift based on rational thinking and practical thinking. They put recycling into practical use to prevent waste of resources.

.

While I was backpacking in 1990s, I visited and looked around the used (flea) markets, which I was usually interested in. The followings are the countries I went saw in person. The United States, Germany, and the Netherlands, including Japan, which is an advanced country,Switzerland, France...Not only New Zealand, Australia, but also India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Jordan, Syria, Brazil, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. In particular, I visited countries called rich countries of the world and found out that there was something in common. It was hard to find them just throwing it away. They were really frugal. Let me give you a representative example of Britain.

.

I've never seen the latest fashionable clothes and more stylish and tidy appearances from the Brits on and off the streets of London. Rather, they wore clothes that felt old and dull clothes. They wore crumpled hats and worn shoes. One of the four was either dressed in old clothes or wearing mended shoes.

.

For example, housewives who stop by the supermarket to buy food, female college students who go to school, salaried workers, and elderly people...Most of them wore old clothes. In fact, this was not only the United Kingdom, but also most Western countries, including Japan. As I traveled to these rich countries, I saw them using old-fashioned appliances and furniture. They had a pragmatic idea of durability. I could see that the kind of community-saving spirit and economic conception that they should save resources are already taking root.

.

They didn't just throw away anything. This was a common scene in the United States. That's the American garage sale. There were panties, underwear and even a bra. Of course, there were many underwear, shirts, and socks that had been used for at least three years. Even after that long use, the rubber band and buttonhole were still good. In my experience, those guys from rich countries didn't care about wearing used clothes. It was just natural for them.

.

I think Korea is getting better little by little but it is still a long way off. It may be too late for Koreans to realized it. Because good furniture, sofas, TVs, washing machines, refrigerators, kitchen utensils, suitcases, bicycles and clothes and shoes are too easily thrown away. According to recent news, mobile phones, clothes, laptops, etc. are waiting for their owners in the subway lost and found room. Is this because Korea is really a rich country?

Thanks.
