  결투 문화는 원래 기독교 문화권에서 출발했다. 거짓말을 죄악시(罪惡視)했기 때문이다(십계명 8항). 비기독교 문화권임에도 거짓말을 허용치 않던 나라 중 하나가 일본이다. 명예를 존중하는 사무라이 전통이 헤이안 시대(8C)부터 뿌리내렸기 때문이다. 서구(西歐)의 결투 문화가 그러했듯이 일본의 사무라이 문화도 이미 19C에 종결됐다. 허나, 그 정신은 이어지고 있다. 흔히들 말한다. 미국인 등 서구인과 일본인들은 거짓말을 안 한다고. 적어도 중국인과 한국인만큼은 거짓말을 안 한다고. 중국 공산당이 발표하는 경제 성장률, 인구 통계, 코로나 관련 등 대부분은 이미 국제사회에서 믿지 않으니 제쳐놓자. 하지만, 한국의 경우 통계가 증명하니 부정하기도 어렵다. 사기(詐欺), 위증(僞證), 무고(誣告)의 3대 거짓말 범죄가 타국(他國)에 비해 심각한 수준이다. 인터넷 검색하면 자료가 넘쳐난다.
  
  그렇다면 서구인들과 일본인들은 타고난 심성(心性)이 착해서 거짓말을 안 했던 걸까. 아니다. 거짓말을 하고 싶어도 못했다. 상대가 결투를 신청했기 때문에. 목숨을 건 거짓말을 함부로 할 수 없었다. 오늘날도 마찬가지다. 단 목숨 대신 신용(信用)이다. 신용을 잃으면 사회 활동에서 배척된다. 죽은 목숨과 같다. 한국은 어떤가. 거짓말로 결투를 한 문화가 없다. 지금도 그렇다. 목숨은커녕 오히려 거짓말을 잘하고 많이 할수록 인기다. 대통령, 국회의원, 대법원장, 교육자, 종교인, 언론인 등 고위 공직자(公職者)일수록 그렇다, 신분(身分)이 높을수록 더 큰 거짓말을 예사로 한다. 그래도 국민들은 그들을 뽑아주고 지지한다. 아니 맹종(盲從)한다. 오죽하면 정의와 명예의 최후 보루(堡壘)인 최종심(最終審) 대법원과 헌재(憲裁)도 비판의 대상이 될까.
  
  세계 공통으로 대법관을 정의(Justice)라 한다. 존경을 받는 이유이다. 마땅히 존경과 신뢰를 받을 만한 실력과 인격을 갖춘 자만이 대법관의 자리에 오를 수 있다. 한국은 어떤가. 대법관의 수장(首長)인 대법원장마저 ‘법관 탄핵 거래’에 대한 거짓말을 했다. 그러고도 사과는커녕 보란 듯이 권력을 마음껏 누린다. 어쩜 저 패거리들은 하나같이 다 철면피(鐵面皮)들일까. 대통령도, 총리도, 국회의장도, 대법원장도, 당 대표도, 시장도, 추종자들도.
  
  뿐만 아니다. 법률의 위헌(違憲) 여부 등을 최종 심판하는 헌재도 그렇다. 검수완박 판결문은 가관(可觀)이다. ‘개정 법안의 입법 절차에 문제가 있지만, 이미 통과됐으니 무효가 아니다.’라고 했기 때문이다. 마치 ‘입시(入試)에 부정을 한 건 맞지만, 합격자 발표를 한 건 무효가 아니다.’라고 한 것이나, 첫 단추를 잘못 끼웠기에 끝 단추가 맞지 않은 데도 이미 첫 단추는 끼워졌으니 그냥 입고 다니라는 것과 무엇이 다른가. 창피한 일이다. 더 비겁하고 비열한 거짓말을 최고 헌법 기관이 자행(恣行)했다는 것이. 국민을 개돼지로 보지 않고는 있을 수 없는 교만(驕慢)이고 만행(蠻行)이다. 저들의 수준이 국민의 수준이라고 하면 할 말이 없긴 하다만. 암튼, 정상적인 나라에선 절대 있을 수 없는 사기(詐欺)행위다. 특히 고위 공직자는 거짓말의 경중(輕重)과 상관없이 옷을 벗거나 감옥에 간다. 대표적으로 미국의 닉슨 대통령을 들 수 있다.
  
  인간은 누구나 매일 본능적으로 거짓말을 한다. 그런데도 고위 공직자들의 거짓말을 엄중하게 처벌하는 이유는 일반인들에 비해 그들의 거짓말은 국가의 위상(位相)은 물론 국익(國益)을 해치고 국민을 저질화시키는 등 그 범위나 파급효과가 너무 치명적(致命的)이기 때문이다.
  
  이처럼 말도 안 되는 저질(低質) 거짓말이 왜 유독 한국에선 가능할까. 피해보다는 이익이 많기 때문이다. 그것을 한국인들끼리 서로 암묵적으로 보장을 한다는 얘기다. 거짓말을 부끄러워하거나 양심의 가책을 받을 이유가 없다. 그렇지 않고는 희대(稀代)의 거짓말쟁이로 밝혀졌음에도 뻔뻔스럽게 대통령이 되겠다고, 국회의원이 되겠다고, 대법관이 되겠다고 너도나도 튀어나올 수는 없다, 거짓말을 하면 반드시 목숨을 걸고 결투에 응해야 했던 엄숙한 기강(紀綱)의 역사가 없었기 때문이다. 그것을 고스란히 이어받은 국민의 수준이 그러하니 누굴 탓하랴. 자업자득(自業自得)인걸.

  Then, did Westerners and Japanese not lie because they were born with a good heart? No, they couldn't lie even if they wanted to. Because the opponent asked for a duel. They weren't stupid enough to lie for their lives. The same is true today. Credit instead of life, if they lose their credibility, they are ignored from social activities. They are just like dead bodies. Then what about Korea? There was no culture of dueling with a liar. It's still like that. Koreans don't blame lies. That's why they lie more. The higher the status, the greater the lie, the more likely it's for high-ranking public officials such as the president, lawmakers, the chief justice, educators, religious people, and journalists. Still, stupidly they vote for them and support them. They're becoming more blind. The Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court, the last bastion of justice and honor are to be criticised.
  
  In the world, the Supreme Court justice is called justice. It means that only those with knowledge and personality that deserve respect and trust can take the position of Supreme Court justice. What about Korea? Even the chief justice of the Supreme Court, the head of the Supreme Court, lied about the "judge impeachment deal." And yet he didn't apologize. Instead, he enjoys his power to the fullest. What's clear is that all those gang members are nothing but the barbardians. They are human trash. Of course, neither the president, nor the prime minister, nor the speaker, nor the chief justice, nor the party leader, nor the mayor, nor his followers.
  
  The same is true of the Constitutional Court, which makes a final judgment on whether the law is unconstitutional. The court's recent ruling on the prosecution's right to investigate is ridiculous. Because they said, 'The legislative process is a problem, but the revision of the law is not invalid.' It's like saying, "It's a problem that he did something dishonest on the entrance exam, but the school's announcement that he passed is right." It's deadly shameful. The Supreme Constitutional Agency committed a more cowardly and mean lie. It is brutality that can't occur without seeing the people as dogs and pigs. They are tailored to the Koreans level. Anyway, it's a fraud that can never happen in a normal country. In particular, high-ranking government officials are punished regardless of the severity of lies. President Nixon of the USA is a good example.
  
  Of course, everyone lies instinctively. Nevertheless, the reason why high-ranking government officials' lies are severely punished is that their scope and ripple effects are too fatal compared to ordinary people, such as damaging the national status as well as the national interest and degrading the people.
  
  Why is such a ridiculous and evil lie possible in Korea. Cause they have more profit than damage. They have no reason to be ashamed of lying or have a guilty conscience Cause Koreans share it with each other. So even though they were found to be vicious liars, they shamelessly run for president, lawmakers and Supreme Court justices. It's because there was no history of fighting a duel at the risk of one's life when lying. This is the current level of Koreans who have inherited it. This is self-inflicted.
