  얼마 전에 읽었던 일본에 관한 기사가 새삼 떠올랐다. 한국 언론은 연일 한국인 정치인들은 거짓말을 누가누가 잘하나를 마치 중계라도 하듯이 신문의 일면을 장식하기 때문이다. 연작처당(燕雀處堂)이 따로 없다. 일본은 대중탕 물을 일주일에 한 번 이상 갈도록 되어있다고 한다. 이를 어긴 욕탕 사장은 모든 것을 자신의 책임이라며 사죄문을 내고 결국 자살로 마무리를 지었다..
  
  그들도 인간인지라 거짓말과 불법을 저지르며 산다. 다른 점이 있다면 이들은 오랜 관습과 전통에 따라 거짓말 등 불법을 저지를 땐 목숨을 걸고 한다는 것. 그래서 이들에겐 거짓과 불법이 상대적으로 적다. 암튼, 실제로 그들은 그렇게 해 왔고 지금도 그렇다. 그것을 이번 목욕탕 주인의 자살이 증명하고 있다. 일단 거짓(불법)이 드러나면 구차한 변명이나 남 탓을 하지 않는다. 아니, 하고 싶어도 국민이 봐주지 않는다.
  
  만약 한국에서도 이 정도의 거짓과 불법으로 사죄를 하고 자살을 해야 한다면 아마 살아남을 사람이 별로 없을 것 같다. 특히 정치인들, 그중에서도 거짓말을 밥 먹듯이 하는, 병적으로, 아니 어떤 사명감을 가지고 하는 좌익과 공산주의(중공과 북괴) 추종자들이 그럴 것 같다. 그들이 사과한다거나 자살을 하는 건 자신의 잘못을 인정하고 책임을 진다는 뜻이기 때문이다. 그래서 그들 세계엔 그런 사례가 없다. 공산주의 종주국인 소련(러시아)에도, 중공에도, 북괴도, 쿠바에도, 베트남에도 없었음이 이를 증명한다.

  그들은 이미 스스로 인간임을 포기했다는 뜻이다. 양심은 인간에게만 있기 때문이다. 양심이 없는 자에게 거짓과 불법은 죄가 아니다. 자살은커녕, 사과는커녕, 미안하긴커녕, 되레 눈알을 부라리며 핏대를 올린다. 마치 마구잡이로 짖어대며 달려드는 미친개와 같은 행동을 한다. 그래도 한국인들은 그들에게 화를 내지 않는다. 오히려 미친개에게도 견권(인권)이 있다며 그들 편을 든다. 한국인들은 정말 정의롭고 정이 많아서 그럴까? 아니면 거짓말에 대한 죄의식이 원래 없기 때문일까? 그도 저도 아니면 그저 두리뭉실 다 한통속이란 뜻일까?

  A thick club is the medicine for a mad dog.
  
  Today, I remembered an article about Japan that I read a while ago. It's because the Korean media reports on the front page of the newspaper every day, as if Korean politicians are relaying who is good at lying. The Korean media seems to enjoy it. In Japan, it is said that the water in public baths must be changed at least once a week. The owner of the bathhouse, who violated this, issued an apology saying that he was responsible for everything, and ended up committing suicide.
  
  They are human too, so they lie and commit lawlessness. However, according to old customs and traditions, they risk their lives when committing illegal acts such as lies. So there are relatively few lies and illegalities among them. After all, they actually did and still do. The bathhouse owner's suicide proved that. Once a lie (illegal) is revealed, they do not make lame excuses or blame others. Because if they don't do that, the people will never forgive them.
  
  If Koreans had to apologize for this level of lies and illegality and take responsibility by committing suicide, there would be few people who would survive. Especially politicians. Among them are leftists who lie and followers of communism (the CCP and the N.K). They don't apologize or commit suicide. Because such behavior means admitting their fault and taking responsibility. There is no such case in their world. This is proved by the fact that there was neither the Soviet Union (Russia), the origin of communism, nor China, nor N.K, Cuba, or Vietnam.
  
  It means that they have already given up being human. Because conscience is only in humans. To those who have no conscience, lies and illegality are not sins. They never apologize or commit suicide. Rather, they are angry that they are right. They act like crazy dogs. Still, Koreans are not angry with them. On the contrary, Koreans take their side, claiming that even mad dogs have basic rights. Is it because Koreans are really just and affectionate? Or is it because they have no guilt for lying? Or does that mean that all Koreans are of the same race?
  
  President Park Chung-hee said. “A thick club is the medicine for a mad dog.”
