People met on my backpack 153 - They looked like History buffs.

.

¡®Bukhara¡¯ was a country founded in the 16th century by ¡®Muhammad Shayban¡¯ of the ¡®Shayban¡¯ family, a prestigious family from Kipchak Korea. He led his people to seize territory from Timur's empire. With his momentum, he took Samarkand, the capital of the dying Timurid Empire, and then took full control of northwestern Central Asia. However, his dynasty came to an end in 1599 when his last paternal descendant died childless. The newly established ¡®Amir State of Bukhara¡¯ maintained its status until the middle of the 19th century.

.

However, as Central Asia was conquered by the Russian Empire, Bukhara also came to an end in 1868. After that, most of the territory of Bukhara, including Samarkand, passed under the direct control of Czarist Russia. In 1917, the Bolshevik Revolution broke out in Russia and the Red Army invaded. They ousted the conservative Emir of Bukhara in October 1920. In the end, ¡®Bukhara¡¯ went through a transitional period and was incorporated into the ¡®Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic¡¯ in 1924 after the establishment of the Soviet Union. Today, 'Bukhara' exists only as 'Bukhara Oblast', one of the 12 provinces of Uzbekistan that declared independence from the Soviet Union on August 31, 1991.

.

Several of the old bazaars scattered around the old city are still occupied today by merchants selling the kinds of goods that flourished in the 15th century: money changers, hat sellers, jewelers, and silk. One of the city's most famous monuments is the Kallon Mosque and Minaret Complex. The 46-meter-high minaret has stood in place for 850 years. We were able to climb up to the top and enjoy a stunning view of the entire city, but unfortunately, it is now forbidden to climb the tower. The colors of the night view here were very beautiful.

.

Also here in Bukhara, the most prominent foreign tourists were Westerners. Most of them were group tours for people in their 60s. I always ask them about their nationality when I see them. They were mostly Western developed countries, as always, such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States, Sweden, and Switzerland. Among them, I had a short conversation with an American and a Swiss at a time difference. To my common question about whether there was a special reason why they came all the way to Bukhara, their answers were almost the same.

.

"It was good that I came here. This is a really cool place. Judging by the color, sophistication, and symmetrical arrangement of the architecture here, these people have a great sense of art. I can feel the delicate hand of the artisans here. Very clean and tidy. Of course, I think their outstanding architectural culture has had a great impact on our country as well. In fact, it is true that we are only familiar with Greek and Roman cultures. As it turns out, we are very ignorant of world cultures and civilizations. I think we should learn more about these very important cultural heritages and their histories. I think we live with a very narrow view of history and the world in some ways. As an American (Swiss), I didn't know that Central Asia had such a beautiful and ancient cultural heritage. It's late, but I'm glad I came. It is amazing and surprising that the craftsmanship of the old craftsman is alive and breathing even in such a remote place."

Thanks..
