Day 5 of my trip to Thailand

Traditional Market in Chiangmai

As there's heavy rain in Korea, we have here in Chiangmai a squall with terrible rain and forced winds once a day.

Even today, a violent squall is coming from the morning...

Today, we booked a daily tour of Chiang Rai tomorrow. So today we will save our energy for tomorrow's all-day tight schedule. We decided to look around the temples in Old Town, visiting traditional markets, shopping, and getting oil massage.

Traditional markets in Old Town are easy to find. First, starting from the Tapae Gate and then go straight down the road that is facing you. And then on the left you see the Warorot Market and on the right you meet the Night Market.

It's a way super large market with Warorot Market, Tom Lam Yai Market, Chinatown Night Market, and Flower Market. There's also Song Tae-woo(car) going to Lam Kam Peng Hot Spring in front of the flower market.

Asked them the prices, I could find the prices went up more than before. The prices here in traditional markets before were between 5~10 bahts: Thai sweet porridge, boiled sweet potatoes and boiled corns..., but now the lowest price is 20 bahts. Comparing the prices before, this could be about 10 bahts. But my guessing was not right. They were all from 20 to 30 bahts.

But fortunately the prices of fruit is much cheaper than that of our country, Korea. It's about 40 to 50 bahts for 1kg of big mango, 20 to 30 bahts for small mango, 20 bahts for 1 cluster of bananas. (10 Bats = 35cents)

What we bought; 1kg of mango, a cluster of bananas, 1kg of Buddha head-shape fruit, some banana fries, shrimp fries and fried rice with cucumber. And we added stir-fried broccoli and mushrooms as side dishes.^^ And we also got three kinds of snacks: dried mangoes, dried plums and dried tropical fruit.
