칼 마르크스가 쓴 공산당 선언의 핵심은 이 문장일 것이다.
  '이런 뜻에서 공산주의 이론은 한 문장으로 요약할 수 있다. 그것은 私有재산의 폐지이다'
  
  마르크스는 私有재산을 없애버리는 혁명은, 폭력적으로 기성 질서를 무너뜨리는 방법으로써만 성공할 수 있다고 주장했다. 요약하면 공산혁명가들이 폭력으로써 국가를 뒤집어 엎고 국민들이 가진 私有재산을 몰수하여 당과 국가가 관리하도록 하는 것이 공산주의의 목적과 방법이란 이야기이다.
  
  북한은 사유재산이 없다. 한국은 있다. 따라서 북한에선 자유가 없다. 한국은 있다.
  자유가 없기 때문에 북한에선 번영과 풍요가 없다. 한국은 있다.
  자유와 풍요가 없기 때문에 북한사람들은 불행하다. 한국인들은 대체로 행복하다. 즉, 私有재산이 행, 불행을 결정짓는다.
  
  마르크스의 낡은 이론을 신주단지 모시듯하는 자칭 진보세력, 즉 친북좌파세력은 私有재산을 우습게 보는 성향이 강하다. 사유재산 정도는 국가의 폭력을 동원하여 빼앗을 수 있다고 생각한다. 이런 생각을 반영한 발언이 세금폭탄이다. 돈 많은 사람들을 폭격하듯이 하여 세금을 거두겠다는 발상 아래엔 사유재산에 대한 존중심의 결여가 있다. 사유재산과 자유는 동전의 양닢이다. 사유재산은 자유의 한 표현이고 자유는 私有재산의 근거이다. 私有재산을 우습게 보는 좌익들은 언론자유, 선거의 자유 같은 것들도 존중하지 않는다.
  
  사유재산을 우습게 여기는 이들이 國政을 책임지면 국가재산을 멋대로 낭비하여 빚더미에 올라간다. 노무현 정권은 4년간 국가빚을 두 배 늘렸다. 노 대통령은 자기 편인 여승이 단식을 하면서 억지를 부리자 경부고속전철 공사를 멋대로 중단시켜 2조5000억원의 손해를 국민들에게 끼쳤다.
  
  자본주의 사회에서 돈은 생명과 맞바꿀 정도로 소중하다. 돈의 소중함을 모르는 이들은 결국 인간 생명을 가볍게 본다. 이런 태도가 집권세력이 맞아죽고 굶어죽어가는 북한동포들과 국군포로 및 납북자들의 인권에 대해서 냉소적인 태도를 보이는 이유이기도 하다. 마르크스의 제자들이 말하는 역사의 진보라는 것도 결국은 남의 재산에 손을 대고, 자유를 억압하며, 폭력을 정당화하는 정치제도를 만들어 소수의 독재자들을 위해서 다수의 행복을 상납하겠다는 뜻이다.
  
  재산, 자유, 생명을 하잖게 생각하도록 훈련받은 자들이 진보라고 위장하여 대한민국의 조종실을 장악하고 있다. 이들이 곱게 조종실을 비워줄 것이라고 생각하고, 그 조종실은 이미 '우리 것'이 되었다고 믿고서 자기편을 공격하는 것을 즐기는 무리들도 있다.

  The distinguishing feature of communism is not the abolition of property generally, but the abolition of bourgeois property. But modern bourgeois private property is the final and most complete expression of the system of producing and appropriating products that is based on class antagonisms, on the exploitation of the many by the few.
  
  In this sense, the theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property.
  
  We Communists have been reproached with the desire of abolishing the right of personally acquiring property as the fruit of a man's own labor, which property is alleged to be the groundwork of all personal freedom, activity and independence.
  
  Hard-won, self-acquired, self-earned property! Do you mean the property of petty artisan and of the small peasant, a form of property that preceded the bourgeois form? There is no need to abolish that; the development of industry has to a great extent already destroyed it, and is still destroying it daily.
  
  Or do you mean the modern bourgeois private property?
  
  But does wage labor create any property for the laborer? Not a bit. It creates capital, i.e., that kind of property which exploits wage labor, and which cannot increase except upon conditions of begetting a new supply of wage labor for fresh exploitation. Property, in its present form, is based on the antagonism of capital and wage labor. Let us examine both sides of this antagonism.
  
  To be a capitalist, is to have not only a purely personal, but a social STATUS in production. Capital is a collective product, and only by the united action of many members, nay, in the last resort, only by the united action of all members of society, can it be set in motion.
  
  Capital is therefore not only personal; it is a social power.
  
  When, therefore, capital is converted into common property, into the property of all members of society, personal property is not thereby transformed into social property. It is only the social character of the property that is changed. It loses its class character.

  The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes tremble at a communist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win.
